Greg McNamara
PRINCIPAL
Greg McNamara is an award-winning designer and creative leader and the Co-Founder of MAST Design. He is working on fusing meaningful applications of technology with his passion for brand storytelling. With a deep love of creating products with thoughtful, emotional impact; he looks for ways to infuse a fresh approach outside the traditional lens of design.
As a passionate advocate of shipping products, Greg has spent the majority of his career in-house building brands as a stakeholder. Previously Greg was the global head of design & innovation at Sol Republic. Greg led the design team from day one, defining the brand with a small team and shaping product strategy through the growth phase to build a globally successful brand with a viral, passionate following. Greg has been part of teams at Astro Studios, One & Co, and Lunar over the years. Before working in consumer electronics, he was nurturing his enduring love of sneakers as a footwear designer; at The North Face in the advanced concepts group, and for New Balance.
His products have been featured in Fast Company, Wired, Stuff, Outside, Engadget, Hypebeast, GQ, and Mocoloco, receiving numerous international awards and patents.
Shady Shahid
PRINCIPAL
Shady is the Co-Founder and Principal of MAST Design. Shady is constantly blending the analog with the digital whether they exist as one or as nodes within a system. He is keenly focused on the future of connected mobility, wearables and spaces where function and beauty are in constant tension and balance.
Shady has over 18 years of product development experience working with notable brands including Apple, Google, NASA, BMW, Toyota/Lexus, Nike, Logitech, JPMC , Pepsi, J&J, Roche and many others. Out of the 250+ products and services shipped, many have been recognized by international organizations including IDSA, IXDA, D&D, iF, Red Dot, Core 77 and CES Innovation. He has also co-authored 9 patents.
Consistently at the forefront of design and product development, his passion for product development was ignited in the emerging world of 3D printing and advanced manufacturing and furthered by his time at frog Design at the intersection of product strategy, brand, physical, digital and services. Shady’s innate ability to build relationships, teams and products prepared him for executive C suite roles at Frog Design, JP Morgan Chase and Native Design. Shady is committed to shipping products and services that define new markets and opportunities one narrative at a time and he continues to create One Story, One Brand as One Voice at MAST.
